Church of the Heavenly Rest, an Episcopal church located in the Upper East Side, has partnered with Wellfare to support the growth of our Better Box program.
Last month, our organizations hosted a community box packing event at the church with over 75 parishioners and staff members manning the assembly line and packing Better Boxes for families in East Harlem. In tandem with the project, the Church also made a generous financial contribution.
"As people of faith, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to thrive," said Anne Marie Witchger, Associate Rector and Chief of Staff of the Church. "We’re so grateful to be able to partner with Wellfare to provide quality, shelf-stable food to communities that need it most. We know that a thriving future is possible for New York — one step (and box) at a time."
